I've had my Sub since 2001, I was just shy of my 18th bday and mi high school graduation. I won it as a prize after winning a sailing regatta.

That being said, I would have bought the watch anyway. Its my DD, has kept excellent time and I use it for anything and everything. I go on my boat, dive, wear it with a suit, jeans and a tshirt, etc. Its also virtually indestructible and a classic.

I wear it more than my daytona

Not really. I have a few of each and as said...Can't go wrong with a Submariner but maybe consider a GMT II...It's personal choice.

As owning both in different variants I would lean towards the GMT II for him.

I have a LNIB no date current model if you want PM me. The sub is a classic never gets old, the new ones are ugly IMO

I have owned every one of them multiple times too many to count vintage and new they are all fun.

Yes all the SS Rolex sport models are old and boring but thats what makes them timeless. The 911 in any rendition is old and boring but it hasnt changed much in 40 years has it
