Total newb: price this Breguet
I know absolutely nothing about watches. Someday I'd like to get into them.
Was just looking through a few (thanks, Dana), and came across this beaut.
Totally not in the market but just curious, what would this bad boy go for, as is (18-carat white gold, leather strap):
5827BB/12/9Z8 / Marine / By collection / Timepieces / COLLECTIONS / Home - Breguet
Thanks!

I agree with Jox. That watch can be had for right around $25K.
What an absolutely great watch.
Breguet invented the perpetual motion watch and the grand complication with tourbillion in the mid 1700s and patented them in 1801.
Napolean owned a Breguet.
It is still the finest watch mechanism ever made.
In the Marine line I really love model 5817BA/12/9V8: http://www.breguet.com/eng/5817BA-12-9V8#.
Note the intricate hand carved face and blue numbers and hands. Just amazing. 35 jewels too.
That watch would run about $15K.

Dana, that is so classy. If you need to be 64 for the one I posted, you need to be 80 for yours.
Stupid Q #2: Jewel? I know it has to do with the timing mechanism (errr...), but exactly what does that mean/difference?
