ECB - It's not the rifle, it's the training. I'm a decent shot, but I couldn't come close to the potential of that gun. It's much like cars - anyone with the means can go buy performance, but only those trained and/or talented will extract anything meaningful from it.

As far as snipers doing ugly things, man as a species does ugly things. Snipers are just more personal when they do their job. It takes a very special person, and believe it or not, professional snipers go through psychological evaluations to weed out the sociopaths and the timid. I was offered sniper school in the Marines, but I declined - I don't have the patience to stalk for 3 days through 12" of grass. Though I don't have any issues with shooting bad people in the face.
