So I am going to pick up a 1911 for me to Carry at my shop. It will be my first 1911.

Cost really isn't an issue. I really like Sig and Springfield but am considering Limber or even Wilson. Full size only and its gotta be nice as its conversation starter as well with customers.

Thoughts?

Springfield TRP is the one to have IMO. Kimbers are nice and fire well, but if you want something that will fire no matter what, Springfield's been doin it for a while.

Ed Brown or Wilson Combat. If it were me ordering it I would get an EB Executive Elite, blued with Sarges pre-ban ivory grips. Functional and beautiful!

My Kimber stainless Custom TLE II fires "no matter what."

But if I do a 1911 again, it will be the nicest non-showpiece Colt makes for "history" sake. All the other high-end pieces (Baer, Wilson, even Kimber) just make a statement - I would rather some of my other firearms make a statement and stick with a tried and true Colt for a 1911 now. My .02

I wish it was my 1911, I am forcing myself not to order one.

EB or WC without question. Springfield TRP Operator for a beater. Kimber might as well not be made from my POV.

Wilson for me, hands down, and I've owned quite a few.
