The only reason this ruling was favorable was because of Alito and Roberts, appointed by Bush.

If they had been justices appointed by Kerry or Gore, we will all be surrendering our guns right about now.
Scary? Absolutely.

Surrending our guns? Oh hell no. Bet on it.
They'd never be able to take them. Even if they tried to use the military. The military would, for the first time in our history, turn upon our civilian government. Which IMHO, would be a good thing. The military is set up in such a fashion that it does a fantastic job of setting up governments based upon the rule of law.

I'd love nothing more to see a vast majority of our congress in chains right now as it is. Let them try to take what may be our ultimate symbol of freedom, I'd just as soon see those politicians stop stealing oxygen.

Some people apparently struggle with the issue of freedom! We're mocked by many people and cultures because we have guns. Our country was founded upon citizens and firearms, rugged individualism, responsibility, hard work, and the pursuit of happiness. Most of the world cannot comprehend that, yet we're supposed to be ashamed of this? Not gonna happen.

That is just plain scary. The entire intent of the our foundations was to limit federal power, to prevent professional politicians, and tyranny over our population.

Stevens, is... well, that would be a nice thing to call someone.
And you can be damn sure that if Obamessiah was elected, he will appoint more justices just like him.

Surrender your guys, comrade.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

I LOVE that quote, and if ever there were a time, I think it is coming about.

This one is a close second: No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
---Thomas Jefferson

We established however some, although not all its [self-government] important principles . The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved,) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed;
---Thomas Jefferson to John Cartwright, 1824.

Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive.
---Noah Webster

Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.
---Tenche Coxe

Any politician, court, or person that goes against that is purely acting upon political and judicual activism; and they should be taken down as an enemy to this country.

So true. And how Justice Stevens' opinion can be construed as anything but judicial activism that flies in the face of the written words in the constitution is beyond me.
