Want a bolt action

Want something that can reach out and tickle someone if I wanted too.

So many nice choices out there...can't even decide if i want .308, 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester or even the .338 Lapua.

Anyone got any decent info to pass along?

Hey Rob,
I ordered a bolt .308 that should be delivered in June. I picked .308 because of the accessibility of good factory ammo. If you reload the other choices become much more attractive and affordable. I settled on the Nemesis Mini-Windrunner. Here's a link to the thread: https://teamspeed.com/forums/team-sp...indrunner.html It should be fun. The "coolness" factor definitely helped sell me on it

Hey Doc...I saw that thread, and I partially blame you for the craving now.

The .308 seems like a readily available round at a decent price for plinking. I priced the Lapua, and it's not something you take to the range every trip out. So why did you pass on the other bolt you were looking at..think it was made by Aug?

I almost went with the Steyr. I got a lot of advice on some of the long-range forums to pass on it. The Nemesis just caught my eye. Made in USA. The owner of the company is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I also heard some stuff about Steyr selling to Iran and those rifles ending up on the wrong side in Iraq. Rather support a US company. There's a lot of good choices but the "007" appeal of the Mini got me. I know, what a geek.

Interesting info...think I'll have to be weary of them then...I've been eyeing the NHC custom rifles as well as the Barretts...

I suggest anything by Accuracy International. They have rifles in several calibers, including .308, .338 Lapua, and .50 BMG. I specifically recommend the .308; cheaper round and plenty effective.

Thank you for the link. Now I'm really glad I didn't go with Steyr.
