Want a bolt action

Yes, that surely has reach out and touch capabilities, but I'd like to fire it w/out having to warn the swat team in advance when i hit the range

Here's the AW PDF:

I'm a big fan of their stuff. Personally, if I were buying a bolt gun, it'd be either .338 Lapua or .50 BMG. There are too many high-quality, uber-sexy 7.62 semis out there to "waste" on a bolt gun.

Couple of things as I went through this whole process a few months ago and spent hours and hours researching it.
1. The important thing to keep in mind about buying these high end rifles is that they do hold their value incredibly well so the cost of stepping up isn't as much as you might think if you have the money laying around.
2. When looking at AIs be very careful because their are two models the AE and the AW. The AE is supposed to be pretty good but the higher end milspec AW is really where AI shines.
3. The other nice thing about the AI is it is very easy to switch barrels without loosing your zero. They are also extremely tough. In terms of field use a lot of people believe NOTHING can withstand a beating and still maintain accuracy like the AI.
4. Glass IS more important than the rifle. I get much more kicks out of the US optics scope than I do out of the rifle itself.
5. At the end of the day functionality wise a 700 is very tough to beat. If you're gonna want the better model eventually because you are one of those types of people, def go the higher end route. In the long run the depreciation is almost the same. AI is only allowed to ship 600 rifles a year to the US so there is never really a HUGE supply.
Shoot me a pm if you have any questions. I don't have the experience component yet but every time I get out to the range everyone says I did the right thing and bought the right rifle. Snipers hide is a great resource too.
