my murcie indeed! i live nearby as well!
i have a word of advice, before you go the crazy route check out the top gear review of caparo t1. i think it will tell you a lot about how a similar car behaves on the road, and what to expect from more hp. do you really want turbolag on such a car anyway? i just think you have to find the sweet spot, going overboard will affect your overall experience in a bad way.

LS3: 430hp, 600lbs
Chevy Ecotec LNF: 300hp, 420lbs
Hartley H1 V8: 450hp, 300lbs
Dennis is putting a LS3 in the first dp2 right now and he has lots of experience with the Hartley. He is using it for his dp1 track car, currently in build, and he build the first V8 Atom (Ariel copied him).

Just thought I would do a little update on the engine side of things... ;-)
I think I have gone through every single possible (and impossible) engine in the world at least 3 times by now! I have narrowed it down to the following 3 engines. I seem to have a very hard time making up my mind, so I think it will all depend on what happens over the next 3-4 days...
1. Ferrari 430 TT by Underground Racing. 650-1000hp (start out with 430 over the winter and TT convert as the car goes over seas for Gumball)
2. Merc C63 AMG super charged. Xtra Power, lands at 700-750hp.
3. Chevy LS9 and tune it up to 750-800.
Thoughts? ;-)
Or does anyone have anything else that is super cool that they want to sell tomorrow? ;-) I just want to get this done and get the thing on the road!

Hey Jon, what about a RB30DET engine made by RIPS in New Zealand? They produce engines that produce save HP figures up to 1300hp! I'm sure they can hook you up with something amazing!

I would go with a fully built aftermarket LS versus the LS9. Something like Virginia Speed will build you what you want. They just built a 900hp LS using a TVS2300. They also specialize in twin turbo setups.
I personally like the idea of a short stroke twin turbo with lots of boost. Hot Rod magazine just built a 4.8l LS that made 1200hp on a stock bottom end. Food for thought.
