New SSC supercar to beat Veyron SS... this summer?

I think like you said Tommy the aeros appeal comes from its uniqueness.
Pearsonally i think a true car guy respects and admires the small companies for not only what they achieve, but the very fact that not everone knows what it is and the fact that posers dont buy them.
I get a much bigger thrill seeing a Vector, Cizeta or Aero than just another Veyron or Enzo, after all at that level of exotic anything with build numbers over 50 loses its rareity appeal.
What i have noticed over here in the U.K. is that the average Joe in the street who knows nothing will suddenly overnight ( once an episode of Top Gear has been on air ) know everything about the car , or so they think. Though in reality all they are doing is repeating parrott fashion what they learned of the programme, real enthusiasts i think not!

wow, it's almost impossible to argue with these types of opinions...but the ignorance on this thread is just mindboggling. A kit car, no soul, poor fit and finish...*sigh*
Someday soon, you may hear my more articulated opinion on the Aero. For now, I'll leave it at...
It's a masterpiece of engineering. For having 4 digit hp, you can't imagine how easy it is to drive. Low speeds, high speeds, the car is bulletproof. Its details and refinements put it on par with any other supercar manufacturers with much bigger budgets.
I will not deny that it took them time to perfect the car. I'd like to see all you keyboard supercar manufacturers get it right the first time. Go ahead, let's see you draw something up, fabricate it (you can use all of your own parts so as to avoid the dreadful possibility of using someone else's components when easier), wind tunnel test it, crash test it, win a Guinness record and hold it over the likes of Bugatti for two years.
Those of you who simply jump on the "kit car" bandwagon with nothing else intelligent to say...please turn in your enthusiast cards.

I haven't had time to read all the pages, but these are my thoughts. I know some will say "we don't give a fxxk".
This company reminiscent the earlier phase of Koenigsegg. Both come from a similar back ground starting with a single individual who have a passion to build an exotic super car. Honestly speaking, both of these companies made some significant achievements and they all started with some type of what you call a "kit car".
I just think that if you are a true car enthusiast, you will appreciate all cars in all form and shape.
Although the SCC is not the prettiest car compare to its' rival, but I am sure in time, this car will improve.
For me, I will give the SCC a thumb up!

Zorro, I've not bashed any super car in any way. Okay, on another thread I think the LFA is over priced because other cars can beat the numbers for a lot less money, but that's a different discussion. You claim to know something about the Veyron, that you've been in one, yet don't seem to think holding a world record for almost three years is any big deal. Did you ever look at the very exclusive list of companies who've held the world speed record? In 1986 it was the Porsche 959, then the F40 in 1987, followed by the 1991 Lamborghini Diablo at a speed of 202.0, then the Bugatti EB110 1992, then the 1993 Jaguar XJ220 213.0, followed a year later in 1994 with the McLaren F1 at 231.0, then in February 2005 Koenigsegg hit 240.7 and in April 2005 after just fourteen months the Veyron at 253.8, then in October 2007 SSC Ultimate Aero hit 256.14, and after a hell of a lot of money in July 2010, the Veyron SS at 267.81... All of these car companies have achieved something great and all of these cars have earned their place in history.
I guess Zorro what I've noticed most is that you didn't come on here and just talk about looks, everyone has different tastes in cars. You fail to understand that SSC was focused on numbers first and like most automotive companies that have a performance mission couldn't afford to go with major name at the time and did the design work in house around what would actually achieve the bottom line results. Rather than praising them for their contribution in raising the bar, you came on here and bashed a company for not achieving anything significant. You failed to notice how FEW cars actually held world records in the last twenty-five years. This is why you come off as a kid with little to no experience because you fail to understand just how difficult it is to push a car that fast for an extended period of time and still make it a production car capable of every-day use. If it were really that easy, you'd see a much longer list of companies attempting the same thing. Notice that SSC is the ONLY truly American car company on that list. No Ford, Chrysler or GM anywhere, just a small group of dedicated guys in a small town up in the corner of the US. To me what they achieved is truly amazing and I'm sorry you don't get that.

Actually, it looks like the SSC is the ONLY American car to have the record. I found this website (scroll down). Sort of interesting, indeed:
World fastest production car | All cars stuff from A-Z you ever wanted

Is the bickering back and forth going to continue? It's a complete stalemate.
It's just like any car, some people like it, some people don't.
Even though I don't like the car(Yes, I have seen it in person), I respect it. Getting a production car over 200mph, is a feat, getting a production car over 250mph, well, that is amazing, and easily one of the hardest things for any car company, large or small.
I support this car company, and I really hope they do keep improving each and every car. Hopefully one day they make a car that is worthy to be used as my wallpaper on my pc.

(and this is actually the first gen car, there were slight aesthetic improvements to front end of the 2nd gen cars)
