New SSC supercar to beat Veyron SS... this summer?
Jerod Shelby statement:
"We would sincerely like to congratulate Bugatti... When the Ultimate Aero broke the record in 2007, we knew it was just a matter of time until it was broken by someone else.
We've been working on a new project to debut before the end of the summer. Not much can be said at this time except that we'll be upping the ante on all fronts. Having famed American designer Jason Castriota as our lead design enables SSC to reflect its engineer and performance in its aesthetics. It's impossible for us to be more thrilled about having him on board and we're anxious to show the world what we have up our sleeve."

Interesting how long will it take for them to realize that no one really cares how fast their shitty kit cars are? No matter how fast it is, its will be nothing more than a shitty kit car. I would definitely like to see some speed weapons from Pagani or McLaren, but all those kit cars are just pointless.

I'm quite disappointed with the hate for the Ultimate Arrow.
In my eyes he has done everything right..
Developed the car with his own money and mostly by himself, got it wind tunnel tested and refined, found out what it was capable of BEFORE sending out press releases about outrageous claims, did exactly what he said it would do: beat the speed record. Plus it BEAT the Enzo in the slalom test in a R&T test.
The car is in production, has dealers, customer cars have successfully ran in cross country rally's, and has been improved while its replacement is being designed.
I just don't get it... its all American as well!
At any rate, I see it like Rocky (ssc) fighting the Russian (buggati)

I dont mind the SSC, in my book if your a true completist car collector you'd want both the Bugatti and the SSC in your garage. As they are both significant cars historically.
I think for the price they are asking they have not done too badly, i believe they have sold around 10+ cars. Admittedly though if i had the means the SSC would not be near the top of my shopping list.
