I am very bias because i am Canadian and have seen teams fold here and move to US locations where hockey is nothing but an AFTERTHOUGHT and he works so hard at keeping them there when up north we starve for hockey and would make SO MUCH more sense to have teams in Quebec City, Winnipeg and Hamilton instead of Pheonix or Atlanta.

but doesnt that also have to do with the owner of said team and there performance? they wouldnt move them if they were always drawing in a crowd and making money. yes i know and understand that hockey is huge in Canada but if they cant make money to support said franchise there but can in the states isnt it the logical thing to do from a business stand point??

 

That was THEN...aka early 90s...the reality is now...a Canadian team is MANY times more profitable then any given US teams...yes there are acceptions.

The main situation im looking at atm is Poenix...a team that has NEVER turned a profit in its existance yet Bettman is adement about it staying there. The insanity that scenario holds boggle ones mind...especially they cannot find a buyer for the team...OH WAIT what that you say??? no buyer...well there was a buyer last year...a canadian Billoniare (creator of the BLACKBERRY) that goes by the name of jim balsillie who was offering DOZENS of millions of dollars over asking price for the team yet Bettman refused to let the sale go thru because he wanted to move the team to Hamilton. Yet now there are NO legit buyers and it a whole mess...end of rant...im sure i missed somethings here and there...but that is the main point im trying to get at...


Ill add just one thing here...as a Canadian we are SATURATED in hockey news...it ALWAYS a topic of conversation and the media covers it like WHITE ON RICE...so we really see whats going on...and you guys our fellow hockey fans from the south do not have as much coverage and dont get the INISIDE sight. Its also tough to convey a WHOLE nation frustration because we live and breath it everyday...you all must see it maybe a a new thing thi HATE for Bettman but for us...year and years of bs has been piling up with no end in sight...

Ask ANY Canadian fan about this same situation and i can garantee you their answer will be a carbon copy of mine...i know NO ONE that sees this any differently.

The LUNACY that Canadians have for this sport goes as far as Quebec City just greenlit the build on a NHL capable facility with NO team in sight...yes thats right...a 300 million some odd dollar project and NO team is even garanteed...Bettman even said DONT hold your breathe QC CITY...lol

Ok. I agree that was somewhat of my logic. You look at Atlanta, Florida, Long Island, and Phoenix, those are all teams IMO that should move to Canada. WTH are they doing where they are now? Oh that's right two things - record low attendance and piss-poor records. Move 'em to Hartford, Quebec, and Winnipeg. While your at it move one to Seattle, it's a HUGE sports market and would bring large crowds. Imagine Vancouver vs. Seattle games. Put one possibly in North Dakota. The Fighting Sioux crowds would pull huge numbers. What do I know though. In other words KOPITAR got a hat trick tonight against the Blue Jackets. Go Kings Go!
