Sorry about the loss man (en alle Nederlandse vrienden). To make it so many games unbeaten, win everything in qualifying, win every game up to the finals... Netherlands has a lot to be proud of. The game today wasn't really that great, technically. It was the kind of game where either team could have easily won, but only one can.

I'll say thanks to all teams and countries for making it a fun world cup, and everyone who posted in this thread. With all the vuvuzelas, red cards, blown calls, upsets, goal frenzies, funny pictures, great comments, good games, bad games, lucky breaks, national pride, this was definitely one of the most entertaining tournaments!

I'm seriously going to be going through withdrawal over the next couple of weeks.

Just got home from the game. What an experience! Congratulations to Spain!!

I must admit I feel sorry for the Dutch supporters, they were for more spirited and dressed as per their team's theme far more than the Spanish supporters.

What a game, I got confused if this was football or a game of poker at the number of cards delt

I took thousands of photos, my Nikon worked overtime I'll post them in the morning. For now it's off to bed for me.

Well done South Africa for hosting a heck of a World Cup. This one will go down in the history books

Congrats to Bonita, Steve, and all the other Spain fans! What an interesting game. I was most happy that a new team won the WC. I was also glad Thomas Muller won the Golden Boot - I think he deserved the Golden Ball, too, since he was so influential in the German side.

Now the disappointment of another 4 years until Brazil 2014.
