I'm gonna have to agree with most here and definitely say Messi fell short of what was expected of him.

Now, thats not say that there were other factors involved. But I look at Diego Forlan as an example. Forlan wasn't surrounded by the most talented team... but delivered and created for himself and was a shining start in the tournament.

It pains me to say it, I have the guy in my freakin avatar. If anything I feel bad for Messi... I hope this doesn't get in his mind and affect his game in the upcoming season with Barca.

 

Forlan is an amazing player. I really enjoyed watching Uruguay games as a result.

Suarez should still go eat s*** for that hand ball!
