1995 Carrera 2 : Should I?
#43
mark, i hear you bro but any 993 i buy from here, i will repaint if it was not already done by someone i trust. the red car was recently done at a top shop locally and it's a great job but the car was dusssty and i was using an iphone so probably didnt do it justice. i want the 993 to look spanking new next to the other rides. our sun is not nice to 5yo cars let alone 15
besides, a riviera blue 993 (for example) is impossible to find from where i am + next to impossible to import (customs regulations), so treating this prospective targa as a project car is intriguing.
tips, L O V E 964s, but i don't bother with the heartache because i know i will not find one within my conditions and budget. that, plus the fact that i have always lusted after a 993, so "love" is not enough. do you know of one which you're not telling me about though?
the owner of the shop i usually deal with (before they went all cheap and refuse to get an sd3) owns a 964 triple black cabrio, but i don't think i ever took pics because i was too busy drooling over it
targa update:
just back from AD, checked both garages they run, car not there. texted the guy who said it is probably there (friend of owner, long story) asking him to arrange that i go see the car at his house. i pretty much made it clear that i will meet the $20k without question if the car is as described + i test drive it
it was funny to me on the way back from the AD that i actually believed the car could just be so easily there sitting and waiting to be jacked up for inspection. nothing is straightforward with these cars, even before seeing/owning them lol

bahrain has a wealth of classic 911s, mostly in good condition too, doesnt mean ul find the perfect one for you but you can sure try contacting the dealers, just 3 days ago i was there and saw a little under 10 993's and 964's
mr falgo here had a lovely special edition purple 964, which he sold
, i drool rigourously every time i come acros it

tips, don't mean to insult you by showing you an automatic 964
but our dear friend "naz" has been kind enough to introduce me to dubizzle.com where i saw this:
Dubizzle.com | 911: 911
i think that's the 1st car porsche introduced the tiptronic s on
yet another targa update,
definite word from the car owner: the car is IN FACT at the dealer's shop. WTF!!! i WENT to his home, 100% not there. 993 stalker
spoke with the AD owner again, i told him i want to come SEARCH for it myself at the shop. i joked with him about them misplacing the car, but i wasn't ENTIRELY kidding. sucks for me, this targa is playing hard to get .. a glimpse!
having now known the name of the owner, i am even MORE inclined to buy it. he usually keeps his cars in excellent condition, services only at ADs, and spares no expense.
long story short: this is taking a bit too long because he hasn't been entirely well recently and i am discussing this with his friend, he also spends most of his time out of the country so i want to make sure i SEE the car soon because i know that i will KNOW whether or not to buy it in the first 5 minutes
wish me luck guys
hoping this car shows up magically at the dealers' tomorrow

targa not to be found at dealer's
did hear a lot of good things about it though
at any rate, this is turning out to be a joke but, so far, it is my sole and only 993 local lead so i don't have a choice really but to tough this one out
some nice cars there so i snuck a few shots for you guys

tips,
here's another one my cousin sent me, it's in their neighbourhood
question: are all 930 slantnoses turbos?
if so, is this a genuine 930 slantnose TARGA that my cousin sent?
had no idea they were ever made

That looks like a strosek front rather than a slant nose.
