I would think about driving up to save some money. I know a couple years ago some friends did that. I might be in for making the trip up there. $600 for 2 or 3 nights at a hotel is... a lot.
I might be in, I will have to talk to some friends about it. I would still drive up even though Dana un-friended me on facebook.

I have to tell you guys this, the CGP is a sure thing, can't miss event.
You just know it will be great - no risk or worries.
That is why I am going again even though I will also attend the USGP.
The USGP will be great but will almost certainly have some glitches in its first year.

That's a pretty good excuse for not going to Canada. However, that does not excuse you from my neg rep! You should do both! I may try to go to the USGP too, but won't know until next summer if I can so it would be kind of last minute. And I would road-trip it down for fun.

I'm definitely going to the USGP. A couple of my local pals have verbally committed to going to. I'd like to do the CGP again, but I'll have to figure a way to do it cheaper this time. Between getting stuck with the suite bill downtown and my outrageous speeding ticket in NY, I spent way more than I wanted to. I'll look into it but I probably won't commit to anything until next year.

I actually have managed to make my trip to the CGP very cheap. If I had booked a hotel then it would be ridiculous. Although, I am screwed if my couch reservations are given away, lol. If enough people want to go but are concerned about cost, we could always take Alex's advice and rent a house. Divide it up and it would be pretty cheap.
The hotel essentially doubles the cost of the trip.
