Lewis Hamilton claims that he is not considering a move to Red Bull Racing. The McLaren driver, who has suffered a pair of collisions in each of the last two races, heads into this weekend’s Valencia event fourth overall and 76 points in arrears of championship leader Sebastian Vettel.
In Montreal two weekends ago, reports circulated that Hamilton had spent 15 minutes in private to discuss with Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner; this was followed up by comments from the 2008 World Champion, who confirmed that he has a close connection with several team heads.
“I have not thought of myself in a Red Bull car or Red Bull suit,” Hamilton told BBC Sport in Valencia on Thursday afternoon. “As long as we remain competitive, there is no reason to go anywhere.”
Of his recent poor run of form, Hamilton continued:
“People can have bad weekends and bounce back. By no means am I giving up yet. If it's another bad one, it's another bad one. Even second would be a great finish, but I'm still massively focused on the championship.”
