Ecclestone denies New York F1 talks - GPUpdate.net
Barely 24 hours after reports emerged that Bernie Ecclestone was to continue talks for a possible New York street race, the Formula One Group CEO has now denied such claims, printed in Australia this week.
The reports in question explained that Ecclestone was to engage in conversation with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, although the 80-year-old has stated that no such plans are in place.
“I'm in the (London) office and I'm not coming, New York,” the Englishman told Reuters. Asked whether an F1 event in ‘The Big Apple’ was on the cards for the near future, Ecclestone replied; “No, absolutely 100 per cent.”
