Scott Speed dropped by Red Bull - GPUpdate.net
It has been confirmed that Scott Speed is no longer part of Red Bull’s driver programme, meaning the former Formula 1 driver is at present out of a race seat for the 2011 season.
This year, the Californian has been competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series although the 27-year-old’s immediate future now looks uncertain, with him having described a letter of contract termination as ‘not a huge surprise’ via his personal Twitter feed.
Speed made his F1 debut for Toro Rosso at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix of 2006, competing in 28 races up to the end of 2007 but failing to score a point, as his eighth place at the 2006 Australian Grand Prix was stripped for passing under yellow flags.
