I hope Kubica does get the Ferrari seat but Massa will have to really screw the pooch to lose his seat IMO

I guess it depends on how you define "screw the pooch."

To me, Massa has to start winning races. Being consistently second - fifth is still losing.

Ferrari wants and needs winners. They want guys on the top of that podium.

Regardless of how unfair it might be, nothing less will do.

I don't. I want Massa to stay put where he is.

Very true, even though Kubica isn't a "true" race winner maybe in the right car he can be. Massa must regain his '08 form to keep his seat because at the moment Alonso is exposing a major performance gap b/w the two. It's unfair given the set back of that accident last season, but as they say,"the show must go on"

Being out-scored by his team-mate for starters. I agree with you though.

While I too think it is unfair, I think the big knock on Massa by the Tifosi is his failure to seal the deal in 2008.

While he did all he could, he still didn't win. That 1 point is what cost him respect at Ferrari.

Had he won the WDC in 2008, he would have been able to write his own contract.

I have to agree with Dana on this, Massa is a good driver but he's not wining races, Kubica is younger and has a much bigger fight in him. Massa's best achievement in his first 5 seasons in F1 was out performing team mate Jacques Villeneuve in 2005, he only started scoring real points after moving to Ferrari in 06.

Kubica made his F1 debut with BMW replacing Villeneuve only 6 races to the end of the season, He managed to finish 6th in Italy, his third ever race in F1. 6th over all in 2007, 4th overall in 08 and all of this is happening in the worst years for BMW F1 who then proceeded to completely lose it on 09. Kubica still maaged to show his face on the podium.

Kubica in Ferrari would be a very exciting turn in F1, I think.
