another rumor i keep hearing is kubica will partner alonso in 2011. he is alonso's bff so it's not totally out of the question. obviously, massa's performances this year will determine his fate but it's interesting to ponder.

Yeah, Massa is out. He probably would have been out at the end of '09 if not for the spring incident.

I don't think Ferrari would give up Massa anytime soon, nor do I think Massa would go down without a fight.

i agree with the second part of your post but ferrari are a fickle mistress, don't be surprised if this comes to pass. whenever you have team principles weighing with their hearts as much as their heads you can get very interesting results.

True enough. I was somewhat surprised to see Kimi go last year. I think Massa is really happy at Ferrari and he won't want to leave without a WDC under his belt. Then again, I doubt that when push comes to shove, he'll have much say in the matter.

There's no way Kubica is a worthy replacement for Massa. I mean, come on!

Didn't you recently say something about the right driver in the right car? Kubica has yet to drive a championship winning car. Put him in a Fezza developed by Alonso and I could see him challenging for a WDC. If Massa can...

I have to disagree with you on this one as well. All the accomplishments Massa has achieved so far has been in a good car. On the other hand, Kubica got some good results while at BMW when they did not have a front-running car. And with his recent podium in Australia in a clearly mid-level car, I think he has yet to show his true potential.

Like I said in my recap (if you have not read it, please do) Kubica's podium in Australia was smoke and mirrors.

Don't tell me he didn't have a decent car at BMW. Mario Theissen is a great F1 mind. The car wasn't great, but it wasn't crap either.

Kubica has attitude problems. I don't think he would fit in with Ferrari.

But look at how Massa has been shoved into the shadows by Alonso.

It is kind of sad really. Massa gives his guts to Ferrari and then he is kind of treated like a second-class citizen by them. Very little loyalty there.

I think Ferrari still holds 2008 against Massa.

It would not surprise me if he gets the axe.

But if he does, look for Ferrari to go after the #1 guy - think Sebastian Vettel.

Decent cars don't win races or championships. Drivers with great potential make ok cars look decent.

Kubica seemingly has attitude problems because he is a talented driver who is frustrated that a manufacturer has yet to put a better than ok car underneath him.

Who would you put your efforts behind if you were Domenicali? Give your heart and soul but if there's a driver available with a bigger heart and more soul with more talent, he gets the seat.

Why no love for Felipe??

I think he has done very well at Ferrari.

It wasn't his fault that his car died on the last lap in Hungary 2008.

It wasn't his fault that the pit crew decided not to unhook his gas line in Singapore 2008.

It wasn't his fault that Glock got passed on the last lap in Brazil 2008.

But it feels like people blame the guy.

I could really care less about who drives for Ferrari.

Driving for Ferrari is like being on Steroids - it can make average drivers great and great drivers legends.

Besides, look at this guy - who has more heart than him!?
