Domenicali: Alonso a better team-player

Formula One news: Domenicali: Alonso a better team-player - GPUpdate.net Formula One

The Ferrari Formula 1 team hopes Fernando Alonso will be the team's new 'Schumacher' in the upcoming years. The Spaniard replaced Kimi Raikkonen to race alongside Felipe Massa at the Italian team. According to team boss Stefano Domenicali the Spaniard should be able to bring the team forward.

Domenicali was very clear when asked by German magazine Bild why the team decided to sign up Fernando Alonso rather than keeping Kimi Raikkonen for another season. "Raikkonen is a very fast driver, but also a very closed person," Domenicali told Auto Bild. "If you hand him a Grand Prix winning car everything is perfect, but when the car needs to be developed and the team needs to be motivated and pushed Alonso is more capable of doing so."

Domenicali is not worried about any possible problems between team-mates Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso. At McLaren Alonso never made a secret out of it he was unhappy with his position in the team. But Domenicali is not worried about such a situation at Ferrari. "I've talked with Fernando (Alonso) about his problems at McLaren. He felt betrayed but also admitted that his relationship with Lewis (Hamilton) wasn't always correct. I can guarantee that such a situation will not happen in Maranello."

That picture makes Fernando's head look huge...

Not that it already wasn't! *Drum roll and cymbal hit*
