NASCAR - Teamspeed Nascar Challenge - News, Banter and Discussion Thread

NASCAR isn't so bad. Here is how I see the pros and cons:
Pros:
- Racing 3 wide on a banked turn at 195 MPH.
- Swapping paint!
- Constant overtaking.
- A bad day qualifying doesn't end your weekend.
- Longer race distance offers more excitement.
- Fantastic live.
- If you live in the U.S. there is likely a race near you.
- TV coverage and production is excellent.
- No Fernando Alonso.
Cons:
- No F1 glitz and glamour.
- Technology not close to F1.
- No "Grid Girls".
- Left turns only and the few road races are all won by Juan Pablo Montoya.
- Drivers are caracitures of themselves (i.e., they reinforce their own stereotypes - but so do F1 drivers).
- Too many NASCAR fans don't know much about racing.
- No Lewis Hamilton.

I pretty much agree with Barrister. The fact that if I miss qualifying it doesn't matter because there will still be a race is the best part for me. With F1, which I also love, it pisses me off that qualifying is usually the best part other than the first 3 turns...
