Bought a new Nikkor 18-105mm as my new "walk-around" lens. Decided to take it out to a local trail in a state park after it arrived in the mail today.

For both of these photos I was within 3-4 feet of the subject. I have a decent knowledge of the snakes in the area, but this one looks like it has fangs. Do non-poisonous snakes have fangs? Or is this a poisonous snake?

Edit: Just did some research. Looks like it was a Florida Cottonmouth. POISONOUS!!! Good thing I didn't get bitten!!

Tried the new HDR-tool in CS5. Not a fan of HDR images in general but it is fun to play around with it.

In both pics the car stands in the exact same spot. It's cool how you can create two quite different photos by just use different angles and move the camera around a bit.
