I'm looking at KW Variant 3 right now. I've found a few vendors and friends have had good success on their cars with them.

Very good coilover kit. Just that it's a little bit hard to adjust it properly, especially the stifness on the rear. Except that, they are very good

Get them from Nate@iND (forum vendor)

I got my V3's for the SLK55 from him, soon to be installed

Chris,
Are you doing a complete BBK kit (front and rear)?

Sorry for answering. For Golf R, the OEM 310mm rear brakes + upgraded front BBK are perfect.

What is wrong with the stock brakes if you don't mind me asking? Do you get brake fade?

The stock brakes are good for fast roads. On the track they will fade.
BBK are recommended only for track enthusiasts. If you go on a track one or twice a year, then it's not worth spending money on a BBK. IMHO

Of course, some persons might buy a BBK just for the looks i include myself here. I don't go that often to a circuit, but damn a BBK looks good on the car yeah i know, i'm stupid ))))

I'm with you, Stefan. It's partly for looks, partly for performance. I know my GTI's brakes were miserable as far as stopping distance and fade resistance go. Eventually, I'd like the Golf R to be my track monster, so I'm building in the items as I go. Once it's a dedicated track car, then I'll strip it, cage it, put real seats in it...

So far the plan is to do wheels/tires ASAP, then wait about 4-6 months, do suspension/brake mods, wait another few months, do the the power mods (ECU, HPFP, FMIC, intake/exhaust). We'll see if I can stick to the plan.
