My New Golf R
#63
I test drove the car just before I bought it (no dealer samples to drive). It absolutely is a lot more car than the GTI. Not just the options (BT, stereo, etc.), but the whole package. The brakes feel much better, the exhaust note is better, it's obviously lots faster, etc. Finally, it'll hold value much better than a regular GTI would (based on R32 resale). All in all, I think it's going to be fun!

Oh and BTW, GO BBS! Hottest wheels on the planet.
The more I look at the Golf R, the more I think this is the most perfect practical car for sale in the world right now. The styling is so simple and clean, and not conforming to current styling trends that make cars look instantly outdated. This car is like a modern day classic. VW has been doing phenomenally well in the styling department these days. I saw a 2012 Beetle today in a Gulf Blue looking color and damn was it gorgeous. Never thought I'd say that about a Beetle. Looking at VW's designs against its competitions designs, my bet is it will take a lot longer for the VW's to look 'outdated' maybe as much as 10 years.
