My New Golf R
#41
Congrats Chris. Enjoy it in the best of health. I think the stock wheels look great. What I would do is get: Carbonio intake, Milltek Turboback exhaust, APR intercooler, a Tune and call it a day. If you plan on tracking it often go for the BBK.

Thanks again everyone.
TEFF - Thanks for your input - your car has inspired (and warned!) me... I appreciate the insight. Obviously you've done your homework to get this far. I had forgotten about the LED tails! I also want to get the Euro sport buckets (bat-wing seats). Do you know how wide I can go (and offset) without having to roll fenders?
One reason I'm swapping wheels sooner than later is because the stockers are riding on some serious all-seasons (they have deep snow sipes in them!). I'd rather save them for next winter. I'm hoping to run 235/40/18 or maybe 235/35/19 on an 8.5" rim with Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
Please keep the suggestions coming. This is my project car, so I plan to keep it for a while...

Regarding the wheels i recommend 18x8.5J offset 45 + Tires 235/40/R18. It's the perfect setup for R. Something wider than this would ruin your MPH reading. This is my setup also. On 19" the wheels look awesome but with 35 tires you won't have that much grip.
Unfortunately in Europe Michelin doesn't sell 235/40/R18 size for their PSS, so i will have to import them from USA.
If you have any further questions just let me know and i will be more than happy to help an R brother
Stefan
