My 998 was the first bike that ever "scared" me. I've always respected my bikes, but none ever scared me with how they laid down the power. My 998 came home from the shop with Termi's, and right at 1k miles, on the break in I was on a gorgeous sweeper interstate ramp. I jerked it and it was enough to pull my left hand off the left grip. Wake up call.

These things, one you are used to massaging that power band can be so user friendly, but able to turn into a rabid lion that just got surprise buttsexz with the flick of a wrist.

There is no turning back for you!

I can only imagine this engine since I haven't ridden one yet. But it has to be intoxicating.
I've just come back from a chilly 25 mile twisties ride... WHOAAAA! My Lord!!! All I did was twist that throttle a bit...honest! I had to hang on with everything I had including my danglies! Just amazing! The shakes and judders are there but when you crank that thing above 4500 revs and it thunders along at something insane! The grip is awesome and I cannot understand the physics but those tires stick to the road like bugs on my helmet. My hands are still tingling.

I'll put up a short vid sound clip and pics but nothing comes close.

Make sure you give those tires a good 100 miles to break in. Same with the brakes.
