Motor Trend's Jason Udy picks the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport worst of 2011

I am no Chevy fan by any means whatsoever but at most price points I am taking a Z06 all day every day over any Porsche I could get in that price range. You can run the shit out of the cars, they don't cost nearly as much to maintain, and they are faster than almost anything they'll line up against. Oh also 427's sound fvcking badass. As was mentioned the demographic is often unfortunate but you gotta go a long way to find a car that is that much fun to drive.
And you want the car to lose revs more quickly?

Go to the :34 mark and you'll see what I'm talking about
Porsche 997.2 GT3 - Ride Rev Accelerations Flybys and Pulls - YouTube
Granted, she's a much larger displacement (and completey different configured engine) It's a wee bit slow to reduce revvs...(this could be easily rectified but Chevy chooses to not do this)
New exhaust inside - YouTube
I'll let Chris Harris take it from here.

yes, and it's a peice of shit. We're not talking about 'every car shifts differently'- we're talking the difference between common sense and retarded.
You wanna know why nobody could obtain those 'Ring numbers in the Z06 as Chevy claimed, for so long?
The single biggest weak link in that car is for the driver to get the power to the ground, quickly, and smoothly. Its transmission. Oh and I love how when you revv the car it takes FOREVARRRR for the Revvs to come back down. Impressive.
Sorry Charlie but the 997 (minus the new Gen Ferrari and Lambo) is one of the easiest sports cars to get in and drive on a daily basis- for almost everyone who gets behind the drivers seat.
Have you ever driven a 997 GT3?

So?
You'd think it was fvcking magic or something to shift a Porsche.. it isn't, sorry fanboi.
I was precise with my question to you about the vintage of Corvette that you claim to have driven because I actually know the difference between the pre 2008 and the 2008+ Tremec (6060) transmissions. You apparently don't. That's OK, you think it's the same trans as a T-56. LOL.
You also think that the transmission outweighs all other 'daily driveabilty' factors. Uh, ok.
You have your opinion, I have mine. Mine is based on ownership and experience. Yours is based on hyperbole.
You keep waiving your Corvette-hate-flag around.

The last Z06 I drove was with the latest trasmission; the owner also has a ZR1 (which was impressive).
And no, I still didn't think he was that much of an improvement.
Are you okay? Did you need a hug? Nap? Sippy Cup?

See you on another Vette thread soon

They definitely need to work on the three f's. Fit, Feel, Finish. If they knock those out of the park in the next generation... it could be incredible.
Till then, I can't stand how bad each of those f's currently are.

Agreed. If they do this I bet h20 buys one to rock with his soon to be purchased yellow gold Rolex day-date which he will proceed to sport with his finest graphic tee.
