Stickier tires and way more power.

~300 hp in an Elise makes for a very quick car, but the ACR is a quicker car on a fast track, by a pretty wide margin.

Both the FGT and ZR1 are excellent, though, albeit at a considerably higher premium. Stock for stock the ACR will eat them both on a track.

Haha. SS shouldn't even be brought up in this thread. ACR, ZR1, and FGT all come down to personal preference. But I think for the money, ZR1/ACR give the FGT a run for it's money. But I'd still have a FGT because of the rarity and history of the car.

But if you want an ACR, it's a good car and I'm sure it'll be fun as hell to drive.

I completely agree. But the OP states he wants an American experience, isn't a poor handeling and crappy interiors part of the deal?

Make fun of interior, but don't bring up handling when we're talking about a FGT, ZR1, and ACR. Just makes you look bad.

Those are 3 exceptions to the rule. I know there are a few more good handeling American cars out there as well. Going back to the muscle car days, everyone knows they went fast straight. It was my try at a joke. The FGT and ZR1 were at the top of my list. I am just not a fan of the Vipers. The CTS-V wagon would be on my list higher than a Viper!

Thanks for pointing out how 'bad' I look, it makes my day.

I guess we both failed at our attempts at joking. Lol. I'm not a huge fan either if you read my posts a page or so back. And yes, I know almost every other american muscle car besides those 3 aren't that great at handling.

And wow, you must really hate the viper to pick the CTS-V Wagon over it lmao.

The CTS-V Wagon and FGT are the only two American cars I would buy today. The V is on my short list for a daily that I can take the dogs in. Never ever ever thought an American car would be anywhere on my list (expect for the FGT) let alone a Caddy. But since there are no other uber wagons available in the US right now...I better go buy some gold chains.

I love the ZR1 and FGT. If I'm ever lucky enough to afford cars like that, those 2 are for sure going to be in my garage. But a Gallardo TT should be somewhere in the mix. Haha. If I need a sedan, I'll get the new CLS 63. Oh my.

Yes. When you're an uninformed individual who takes everything said on Top Gear as gospel.
