The nice thing about getting the stang, is it will be a new car. You don't have to worry about hidden problems, unknown abuse, etc..... Than again it is your money. All of your choices are great when it comes to performance, and they each have their own driving characteristics.
LOL
and there is a reason that after two or three years a Mustang's worth 15k.
Just saying.

A GT can't be had that cheap for an '08.
I've seen a '05 and '06 GT's right around there though.

They are good cars, for what you are paying for. I've always been the kind of person to take a used BMW vs. a new Mustang. But to each his own.

Has he thought about CTS-V?

How about a Hemi 'Cuda?

With all the cars being thrown about, I figured why not... If the Z06 is realistic for you, then that's the ticket. No Mustang is going to hang with it from a speed/handling perspective.

Dont get a Cts-V - Had one and they are POS, unless you get the 09+

I'm actually really liking the new GT as well... Always been a mustang fan, used to own a 91 5.0, and 98 Cobra - I even had thoughts of trading in the 335i for the new 5.0 or Boss - But then I saw a sweet RS4 drive by, and remembered what my next car is....

I might have to buy a Kia Sorrento at this rate, the wife is currently talking about wanting kids, and I'm typing this, nodding and making mumbling noises back to her.

For less money, you can spoil it and it can't turn out to be a snobby, entitled, 20-something. haha

I've already bought two cats, a year apart, there's no escaping it now...
