I understand the risk of Americans losing jobs... but when companies put out cars like the PT Cruiser, HHR, and the Aztek how can they claim to be doing their best to protect their employees?
If I saw the company I worked for producing nothing but turds I would have jumped off that sinking ship years ago.
Government money doesn't solve the apparent problem of decades of completely ignorant decision making.
The failures of American companies have nobody to blame but themselves. We have a large population of lazy and unmotivated people who would rather assemble ugly part after ugly part to produce an ugly byproduct than actually show initiative to correct what is wrong and do good for themselves.
I myself have been part of a company that went bankrupt a few years ago, and there were a lot of lessons learned as a result. When you're on a sinking ship you don't try and band aid the product and draw out the death. You close the doors, pay your debts, and draw up a plan to do it better the next time.
You get knocked down and you learn from it. Government intervention has done nothing but prolong the much-needed reorganization and restructuring of modern industry. We are all paying and will be paying a lot of money to protect the "now" and f*ck up the "later" as a result.

In my experience sometimes you need to sit back and let nature take it's course... What happened after the great depression? People without jobs stopped waiting for hand outs and started creating and innovating. Those inventions eventually sprouted into technologies that we have today.

Go sell some of those awesome looking "Pannys" Mr. salesman.

Escalade, while I am not a fan, was a huge seller for GM.

You could stop being antagonistic, that would be swell. Don't poke someone and not expect a poke back.

Have a nice day, I'm done wasting my time with you.

You can't really compare the quality of the Panamera to the CTS-V. Same goes for the 911 to the CTS-V Coupe. Porsche was never a target for the CTS-V from the get-go, in terms or quality or performance. On the other hand, Bob Lutz aimed the CTS-V squarely at the BMW M5 and M6 in terms of performance. Again, one could argue the overall quality of the CTS-V compared to the European rivals but in the end, you get what you pay for. I think GM has done a fantastic job in extracting this kind of performance out of a heavy sedan/coupe, especially considering a limited budget for such a small target audience and in their current financial situation.
You can't really argue that the CTS-V is a great car for the money, both in terms of performance AND quality, but it's not for everyone. That's really all there is to it.
