Be interesting to see how many "launches" you get before the clutch and/or gearbox is toast.

Quite a lot I'd imagine. The earlier versions can run into the 10s and push 800 bhp on stock gearboxes

Earlier versions didn't have flappy paddles.

Nissan engineers made it clear that they aren't going to manufacture a new GT-R that didn't outperform older/lesser models with less power and technology. They know very well that GT-R buyers (most) will mod them and although they've initially attempted to keep that from happening, it's only a matter of time until tuners crack it and you'll see 500+ hp GT-Rs...

You're comparing Celica's to Skyline's / GT-R's? That's about as fair as comparing a Cavalier to a Corvette.
