It is a bit interesting though that most "money is no object" opinions have come from "dealers"... hmmm...... Just imagine the poor sap that bought their gallardo sl for sticker or above 1-2 years ago, is now trading it back for a much faster, more refined lp560 and finding out than within a year, he's lost 80% or more of its value! Talk about recesions or depression! 80% loss a year!

Hey now! I may or may not have some experience working for a dealer
That's what I'm getting at though!

Don't get me wrong... if another gallardo sl with very low miles, <1k miles, shows up for 140K, I may be tempted again! Both cars have more capabilities than what I would be able to extract out of any of them, its just a matter of how the either car makes one feel.... btw, does anyone know how much carvagio would charge to re-do the interior on a zr1?

But true muscle cars sh!t their pants when they approach a corner, this however does not. A Shelby Super Snake = Muscle Car, but the ZR1 is an exotic to me. Yeah, the interior sucks, but I wouldn't keep those seats or that steering wheel in there for long anyway.

I never said the ZR1 is a muscle car. It is a borderline exotic for sure!

To the OP, I say that's a tough choice. I like both cars for different reasons. I guess it depends on the mood. I think for me it would come down to insurance rates and availability of a mechanic or shop and aftermarket parts.

For me it's all about the way it drives i;e performance and handling + reliability
hence put the zr1 next to the lp 560 and i wouldn't even give it a second look, let alone the gl sl...

ZR1, not sure how it will go up in value. When the C7 (or whatever they call it comes out) wouldn't they build another ZR1? if so, its only logical to say that the new C7 Zr1 would be quicker? and with complaints about it's interior styling, I'd say they'll even upgrade that... so If Chevy decides not to build the ZR1 in a very long time, then maybe, but just maybe, otherwise it will depreciate like most other cars...
I would go with the SL, simply because its probably cooler to be seen in. That reason alone is worth it.

if i were in your shoes though, i'd do an FGT. at least you would be able to find your car in a parking lot.
