zr1 or gallardo sl?

Easy answer! SL! If you can afford the exotic why anything else. Corvettes are a dime a dozen and can be seen every day several times a day. The excitement of hearing and driving a Lamborghini is well worth it. Exotic cars are a whole new level and shouldn't even be compared to a Corvette unless money is a issue.
This is just my opinion. Lets give the ZR1 its due. It may not have the flash of a Lambo or Ferrari, but it is a serious piece of machinery......and have you heard a ZR1? That may change your opinion by itself

Its getting harder by the day..... gallardo prices are dropping like a rock.... I just missed out on a "brand new", full 3 year warranty sl, with 80 miles for 145-150k. The number of cars available for working stiffs like me are getting larger everytime the stock market tanks by a percentage point!

Name one Lamborghini that's appreciated in value... Other than the Reventon (if it has)
Driving a 600+hp rear drive american car is an experience in it's own right, regardless of what the exotic owners say - apples to oranges in my book!

I agree in every respect, EXCEPT for when it comes to the ZR1. The ZR1 is not your average Vette. If you are interested in something that is essentially the fastest street legal car money can buy that comes with a legit warranty, will spend more time on the road than in the shop, can be used as a DD, is made from exotic race car technology, and is not flashy, then the ZR1 is for you.

I'm not knocking the ZR1, but if money is not a issue I would get the Lambo every day. I personally do not need it to be the fastest bang for the buck car if I can afford a Lamborghini. The ZR1 is awesome, but at the end of the day it looks like any other Corvette just tuned out.

If anyone can really afford either car why are we even talking about resale value. Who cares! You care about resale value go buy a Lexus or Toyota. I'm not directing this at you. But just the general topic about resale value int he same sentence with exotic cars. If he can afford a exotic he can afford to maintain it.

Having driven neither car, I can only assume that the ZR-1 would be an incredible rocketship to drive... Tons of horsepower, torque, and rear wheel drive. It wont be stable like the Gallardo, but getting a little sloppy and having some fun will bring a grin to your face. This car is an American knock-out, but not everyone has to knows she's double-jointed too.
The Gallardo SL would be unassuming, polite, and attractive... all the while being able to take you for surprise at the touch of the throttle. This car is driving an italian supermodel, lots of fun and you'll always look forward to taking her out and showing her off.
You will get more attention out of the Gallardo, but the ZR-1 will be a freak in bed. What do you prefer?

But just the general topic about resale value int he same sentence with exotic cars. If he can afford a exotic he can afford to maintain it.

Example: A friend is ordering a ZR1 (pending confirmation of dealer allocation) instead of buying a 430 spider. This is in addition to several higher-end (not exotic necessarily) cars. 2000 cars made, possibility of Bowling Green closing, etc.
However, the ZR1 is not just any Corvette as everyone has said, and I would certainly argue Corvettes in general have been questionable the last 10-20 years.
I would say if money is no object grab whichever you like best!

Keep in mind this is coming from someone who's in a business where resale is big!
