Project Resurrection: BMW E36 ///M3
#71
Passed by the workshop today to check on a few things. Here's the update:
1) Transmission was completely removed
2) Transmission received a thorough cleaning, as shown in the images below
3) New clutch has been installed and tested
4) Central locking unit has been fixed, although another small and unidentified gremlin has surfaced. Should be sorted by tomorrow.
Another update to follow very soon...
#76
I thought so.
Thanks man! Black and red go well together... just wish my car was clean
So here's the latest update:
1) Central locking unit has finally been completely repaired. Was quite a task simply because every item linked to it throughout the car was failing.
2) I don't know the name for the part, but the control arm that holds the door in place when open has been repaired as well.
3) Right door handle was removed and refurbished. Left one didn't need it.
After the transmission was mounted again, we found a minor oil leak from one of the seals. This meant that we had to have the transmission removed again... sucks to be me. However, I'd much rather these issues surface now than later on. That's it for now people...
