Matte requires ridiculous maintenance... can't just wash and go.

My opinion with wheels is that if the factory wheels aren't EXCELLENT, I'll always go with a good aftermarket option. My RS4 was one of the few cars that had perfect factory wheels. My new 911, not so much. None of BMW's stock wheels impress me much, especially considering how much they charge for their upgrades. For the $5-6K the "good" wheels costs, you could get some nice BBS, HRE, etc.

A big no on aftermarket wheels. This is my dad's car and it will remain entirely OEM looking.

I don`t wanna be totally anal about it,but since i hear it so often ,..

the frozen colors are not matte colors
they are rather like un ultra thin layer of satin covering a metallic paint

concerning the vid from Bimmerpost,..

I think if the car is not being driven all that much anyway it`s totally worth going for a frozen color

It will replace the e39 M5 as his daily. This matte color is making me nervous, so leaning towards Gray or Moonstone now.

Agreed on RS4 being one of the few cars with great standard wheels.
Frozen looks nice, but a bit edgy for an older guy's DD. Could be cool. I'd prefer a traditional metallic with a complete opaque wrap a la Premier if you want that effect .. plus protection and reversible.

Matte is fine, just have Premier clearbra it with their new super duper matte clearbra film, which is washable and waxable and polishable, and you are all set.

You BMW fehgs are so demanding. Enjoy your shite stock wheels and good luck not getting a shiny spot in the MATTE finish.

Don't get a fücking matte or "frozen" color for a 60 year olds M5.
