The JC to spec an F10 M5
I just got an email saying that I've got one of the first allocations at my local dealer for the F10 M5. Ordering starts in two weeks, so I need to get everything together and would love feedback from the community on the must haves.
The car will be my dad's, but he is letting me spec it. The guy has owned a number of M5s over the years and currently has a 50k mile e39 M5 that he has no intention of selling. The big question for him is 6MT or 7DCT on the new car. I'd love to see a review of the two, but doubt that will happen in the next two weeks.
Here is the UK configurator, as the US version is not up yet.

I'm trying to push Monte Carlo Blue, but don't know if my 60 year old father is going to go for that.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

White and red are definitely out. Spec will be much more conservative as the car will not reside in Miami
Way ahead of you

How about Black on Black ? 50 Huper Optik tint's all around, perfect.

Black on black is always a mean looking spec, but it doesn't allow you to see the lines of the car. I think the F10 is much more visually pleasing then the E60, so therefore, I want those lines to pop. I like the idea of brown interiors, but it would have to be a dark brown.

Try to see if you can get an "Individual" Spec
They have a nice shade of blue called Azure Blue and a Cigar like brown.
