On the tranny discussion the e60 MT was most certainly an afterthought, quite literally the e39 MT slapped on the e60 for the US market.

The F10 has had the MT on the list since it was unveiled.

Why do I care? Because I am leaning towards my third M5 but only because of the MT and all you poo-poo heads are trying to tell me I am an idiot for opting for a MT on this 2+ton saloon.

Sounds like I should drive the 550 MT to see what it is like.

But you won't get a good picture becaise the 550 uses that aweful electric steering while the M5 is good ole fashion hydraulic.

The bad steering on the new 3 was such a distraction that I really couldn focus on the rest of the car. Same withthe 550.
