Thoughts on the 2010 Subaru WRX STI?

Def want something entertaining. Mini is actually very fun to drive. Just need something bigger and more utilitarian (which should not equal boring).Snow? Haven't seen it in 2 years. If I go up north about 2 hours, maybe.

Nav and BBS wheels are pretty much the only factory installed options available to my knowledge. This one comes with Bluetooth (essential), but only an Aux jack for an iPod (weaksauce).
Interior is okay. Better than the Mini, worse than the TT and my wifes luxo barge MB.

I almost pulled the trigger on an 09 sti tech (white with gold bbs and navi) until i test drove it. I was expecting alot more from it and was really disappointed. From the moment i sat in it, i told myself this car better impress me because so far i couldnt see where the extra cash over a base impreza went.
For just a tad more i got an 09 audi a3 3.2 s-line+titanium. Couldnt justify paying that much for a subaru that didnt overwhelm me with performance. Right now i feel my audi has the best of both worlds (luxury + decent performance)

I have a STi MY09
I am really enjoying the car!
I would suggest two things:
New exhaust and re map the ECU.
only downside fuel consumption & a few rattles.
I have driven many cars in this price range, not many cars have the 'FUN FACTOR' the STi sure does. Not many cars are going to match the STi Launch.

.....so....I got a lightly used 07 Audi B7 A4 Avant Quattro. Found a local 6 speed specimen. Traded in the Mini. A bit more 'civilized' than the Subi or Mitsu. Definitely slower
But looking into an APR flash to at least make it drivable because the stock power is absolutely pathetic.

if you are bent on getting a wannabe rally car i would go with an evo IX. the steering on the evos is scalpel sharp and has good feel, the sti's is completely inert and over assisted. the evo tracks with an ass out attitude, it likes to corner in a slight drift with the rear coming into play nicely. the sti understeers significantly, you would need a rear sway bar upgrade immediately. also, the evo makes good power at the BPU level which i assume you will have your dd at. i believe they are making in the 360WHP range with the stock turbine, bolt ons, and cams. maybe more. sti's certainly sound better but im not sure what the BPU potential is.
if you must have new i would still go evo x over sti. they have civilized the evo, some say its lost its edge, but it still has similar dynamics to the older versions. the apex of the evo line is the IX imo.
if you are outside of the US and must have a subaru product you could find exactly what you need in a spec c. Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C | Car review | evo
