I think it's a misconception that you have to be one or the other. I'd rather be athletically superior for my height / weight. As in being able to bench press 225x 10 X 5 - squat 400lbs x 8-10 x 5 curl 135 x 6-8 X 5 - and also do many pull ups, upside down sit up, and have the stamina to tackle an Ops Course with gear and weapon in a timely and efficient manner.
Guys who can do all that while keeping their mental focus near laser sharp- IMHO is what I'd want to maintain that status of physicality.
Having a six pack wouldn't hurt either!

I don't care about being ripped but, you can also tell when a guy is thick, chest looks good, arms are big... 6 pack just means your good at a diet or naturally lean and still a pussy
So I agree with so cal!

I've been ripped with an 8-pack before only 2 times in my life; 1- in Okinawa working out 6 days a week as a Marine (217 pounds) and in Mountain Survival School (Marine version of SERE) at 180 pounds.
I'd much rather have a 6-pack and bigger arms/legs/back/chest than be completely shredded with none of that. Vascualrity means jack shit to me...

much rather be fitter than stronger
i.e. i would prefer being able to run 10km than to be able to lift/push massive weights
aesthetically, i would much rather look lean and cut than be bulked up
lifestyle wise, i would rather eat clean and less, than to load on the calories and push up the weight
