Damn that sucks!!! My car was slated for production 2/27 before this whole debacle came about.

I'm still interested in the car (they have a white one in the show room that I go to stare at from time to time) and can only imagine how great of a car it will be once they sort it out.

I'm still a Porsche fan and always will be. Other high performance marquis also had their share of difficulty and all have came through shinning (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Chevy). Porsche is no exception.

I suspect it's no coincidence that you haven't seen a 458 Speciale review from CH.

Personally, I respect him more than I already did for calling Ferrari out but it does appear to have cost him some access.
It's been well established that Ferrari "punishes" journalists & other media types that are critical of their products. Access is restricted or denied.

GT3 update: dealers are pulling engines of US cars. A rep from Porsche Germany requires everyone to clear the room, and they inspect the car. I believe this is to prevent rumors. Damn good idea. But it's very wierd that Germans are flying all over the US pulling GT3 motors.

Thanks for the update..but prevent what kind of rumours? This type of engine cannot be repaired locally anyway - thats the difference to the previous GT3s - so if the engine is pulled out..it means it never coming back..you´ll get a new box from stuttgart and the dealer will just install a new locally. The fact that someone from Germany comes over to see the car feeds rather other rumours (problems with RWS)..just saying..

IDK man. I'm just telling you what happened locally. No one knows if the Porsche Rep worked on the motor or anything. It was interesting that everyone was told to leave the room. Even the Tech that pulled the motor. Presently, there is no new motor coming.

Does the Porsche Rep. sip a martini, shaken, not stirred?

Wow! This is turning into a mystery novel!

some owners are getting notes like this one today:

"Since our last communication to you, we have continued our direct contact with the engineers at Porsche AG in Germany. They have been working tirelessly to determine the root cause of the issues affecting some 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 vehicles. Last evening, we were informed that they were very close to finalizing their analysis. It will take us a few more days to solidify some of the details, and as soon as we have a more definitive resolution, we will call you to share the news. Please expect a phone call from us towards the middle to end of next week.

Please be assured that this issue continues to have the highest levels of priority and visibility throughout the Porsche organization worldwide, and that Porsche is committed to continuing to earn your trust. We are confident that our determination of the reasons for the issue and its solution are now days away.

Thank you for your continued patience as we ensure that you can enjoy the high standards of performance and safety to which your GT3 was designed and engineered. We take your loyalty to Porsche very seriously and we appreciate it."
