KERS - This is way to go with new technology on road cars! McLaren & Ferrari take race proven (KERS from F1) system that will give mind-blowing results on road cars without experimenting.

They dont do experiments on road cars like Porsche with 918. On end of the day that's why sports car manufacturers make cars/engines for race - so they can experiment with systems that will be used in road going cars.
Remember the GT3 R Hybrid? Porsche did race prove their KERS system, and now they're putting it to road use.

And as for the upcoming 9A1 engine for motorsports, it has also already been race proven on the racetrack with the Cayman Interseries (and on the road with the 987.2 and 997.2). So far the 9A1 has proven to be entirely bullet proof in motorsports.

so funny how some of you call 7.14 slow. How old are you? You guys do not drive that car anywhere near that time.
And stop expecting a 20 sec drop in every new generation of hypercars. The cgst, p1s, enzos of the future will never go around the Nordschleife in sth like 6 mins. We're reaching the limits. And there aren't enough straights that 1**** hp make it any better.

this is a lap of a prototype not the final car
guess they might be near 7 or just lower

kers in p1 and f70 are yesterdays technology and even replaced soon in f1

nice outlet for TAG though................

this extra 350kgs are a mental blockade though and they must demonstrate it will be superior for years to come

michelin tyre development is key/not only to cope but to be sensible cost(not like veyron)

mcl have not even choosen which manufacturer to choose and intend to deliver early 2014--happy birthday.....

I didn't notice until you pointed it out. It was put around the 'Ring in 7:14 from a dead start, so I'd assume that the misfitting bumper is either some damage from hitting the rumble strips, or just because it's a prototype, and the fit and finish isn't quite there.

from what I read and understood f1 will have more power from a new called Hers or Ters system based on turbo-gas in conjuction with current kinetic kers
