spyderman your comments regarding future rs etc aren't far off the mark,at the carrera world cup last year i was talking to a certain person who now works for bentley,he's take on it was that the possible 960 would come into play when the latest rsr fades away, to rival 458,mcclaren and lamborghini etc, with gt3rs at carrera cup and challange level, with the wide body and front track etc, pretty much an evolution of the car we see today, the only puzzle in the mix would be why would a standard narrow bodied gt3 really be needed if the new models tick there racing box's,the 991 gt3rs could be built in comfort and clubsport models as the original gt3's were,i guess the only reason to keep a standard gt3 is that it would be a more available cheaper entry gt car and of course because they can.i have a letter of intent against the possible 960 because i beleive it has to happen, just hope they build a clubsport option,as ferrari offer scuderia and it's based on carrera gt dna.

I heard a long while ago from someone I trust that there would be a gt3rs " type " 991 but " it may well not be called gt3rs " . its interesting for sure and perhaps the same thing as the op was told slightly differently if you get my meaning .
960/1 will take over higher end competition from 911 if it is made , that is certain .

have to admit this thread lost its track at some point and have to thank spyderman, goldencrust and wtdoom for bringing it back on track...

its the 991 gt3 RS the OP referred to and not in a negative way ...which turned into a the 997 was hated then loved bla bla bla

sounded overly defensive as if some GTR fanboi or so made silly comments on the car we all cherish. chill guys we are family

@ goldencrust - thank you for your interesting post. I take it that the "certain person" that you were talking to would be Mr W.D.
I agree that a "standard" narrow bodied GT3 would be redundant, but as wtdoom mentioned, the new 991 GT3RS may not be called a "RS".
I think that the take-away message from my earlier post, was that the positioning of Porsche's future GT Motorsport products will most likely reflect their road going product hierarchy.

So are we going to be seeing this 960/1 replace the GT3RS or the RSR?

Will it be the new cup?

I wish porsche would produce a car that ran in FIA GT1 class

Until Porsche starts racing with the 9A1 block, I want M64 in a GT car.

oh thats right, I forgot about that one. Thats right too.

So its true then? 991 will be the last gt3rs? Wow times are changing.

960 will be mid engine?

Sounds like the 991 gt3 will be a car to have, I never thought Id see the end of gt3's from porsche
considering how much of an impact the 997 made
