I have driven Porsche 911 for the last 10 years and currently use a 997 Turbo as a daily drive and a 997 GT3 RS for casual track driving. I am about to pull the trigger on a Ferrari F458 and was wondering if any Porsche nuts like me have some relevant driving and ownership impressions to share? What can I expect? I would use the F458 for street driving, and perhaps an occasional trip to the Nürburgring, but no hardcore track-driving.

Turbo and the GT3 are completely different animals.

 

458 is on a different level compared to any Porsche. Blasphemy I know; but the 458 is just one of those cars on the 'must' have list- and not b/c its a F car. Its because you can't spend better money on a car in that league. It's simply rediculously awesome. You could freak'n Daily Drive it! It's that smooth!

 

I finally got to the drive the 458 for a few hours yesterday. I am very impressed with what Ferrari has given to us car enthusiast! I have always seen Ferrari as a posers car, but my gosh the 458 is a sensational drivers car. You soon forget that you are driving around in 200kEUR and just throw it around like a go-kart. I will locate one in the most stealth combination I can find and buy one as soon as possible! I recommend every Porsche fan to have a go in a 458. I am pretty sure you will love it!
