One thing you forgot to mention - Porsche has built the fastest and most powerful and advanced 911 ever and you still dont have to change the oil for 10,000 miles. Its like the most masterful piece of engineering to come out of Germany, Italy, UK, US, Japan or wherever and you want to be angry because the company makes money and gives its clients what they want.
Ferrari is going down the same track.....4 wheel drive hatchback - hard top, front engine V8, sure looks like someone else is going to join the SUV party soon enough....

i don't post much, but i have to say that this has been one of the most entertaining threads i've read in a while.
10000rpm--it would have been much easier to play nice rather than asking for forgiveness after you offended others. good luck with rehabbing your rep...

h8: power isn't everything, my man. You must know that its not that hard to get a lot of power out of engines that use forced induction. In fact, its the path of least resistance and least development cost for the manufacturer.
I appreciate the 2RS for what it is, a fast 911. Does it intrigue me? Yes. Is it the ultimate 911 as Porsche will have you believe (at the ultimate price point for a 911)? HELL NO.
You telling me with a straight face that a 2RS is a more desirable car than a CGT because it has more power?

But what is interesting, Porsche, as I understand it, always seems to be on the conservative side of their numbers - In that, when one of these magazines tests the cars, the numbers are always better than what porsche reports.
I guess that's because porsche has idiots for customers who dont care about hair dryers blowing into their engines.
I'm going to get into my over-blown car now and scoot home. Yippie!
