First GT2 RS for sale on eBay

^Well fighter pilot, you should have stated that earlier instead of attacking members and their cars. We made the decision to write that check, and none of us cared to ask you first. Nor will we in the future. You trashed my car, which I love, and I have ON ORDER an MP4 and ordering a 458 in November. And I'm big enough to make those decisions without your help.
you still have not explained how you have ordered the mp4 when the factory has not assigned build slots or option pricing to the US dealers.
don't be aggro, we're on the reconciliation path

Well, in my opinion, jcc2tx is the man for posting all of his photos, knowledge, and experience. You just seem to not appreciate a GT2RS for what it is: the most powerful Porsche ever built. Maybe you do, but it sure doesn't/didn't seem that way. I mean honestly, what isn't cooler than a 620-hp 6-speed, not some paddle-flappy-thing, with a warranty???
(Maybe a 638-hp 6-speed ZR1, but that's because I was born and raised in Kentucky.)
Seriously though, how can you not like a Porsche 911 that has more power than the Carrera GT?
Anyways, you seem to have had enough cars to appreciate it, yet you don't....

I think he was insulting you for being a "hotshot" space cadet

LOL. You stated you flew an airplane.
IDK what to tell you on the MP. I ordered and configured the car. This morning to be exact. With McLaren.
I did it because I can.

I appreciate the 2RS for what it is, a fast 911. Does it intrigue me? Yes. Is it the ultimate 911 as Porsche will have you believe (at the ultimate price point for a 911)? HELL NO.
You telling me with a straight face that a 2RS is a more desirable car than a CGT because it has more power?

FYI. On the aggro part, you start apologizing, I start listening.

(facepalm)...oh man, dissecting my quotes. Clearly, that's not the only reason. It was meant to be a one-liner, a figure of speech. Not the end-all, be-all. For listening to me so well, you should actually start by listening to everyone else as well, namely the post right above mine^^^

My bad I thought I had done that - I'm sorry for my attack in general and particularly on you and coming out too strong on what undoubtedly is a fantastic driving machine.

10000rpm,
You should just lurk and see how things are done around here for a while. Perhaps until march when you can reintroduce yourself and your 458 to us.
Backpedaling at this stage in this thread is futile.
my $.02.

Stoppie - I don't know exactly, perhaps I should have my head checked. There is something frustrating about how Porsche has gone about its latest models - Black Edition, GTS, Speedster, Cayman R, etc etc it is all just kind of pathetic IMO. I owned a couple Porsche's and I used to think they were the best brand in the world, embodying true sports car virtues. Don't get me wrong, my Porsche's served me well. But then in the past 3 years I started seeing a pattern of Porsche doing whatever is necessary to get the most out of doing the least in terms of improving their sports cars SUBSTANTIALLY.
And this makes me angry, because I feel betrayed by a brand I did love at one point. I don't idolize Ferrari or mclaren by any means but I do see them as companies that are in fact working to earn your money (at least in my eyes).

LOL -j/k
I know EXACTLY what you're saying and I too feel similar in sentiment- with ONE exception.
I understand that Porsche is a FOR Profit business. And as such, like most businesses that are still here post 08 crash, they had to make 'course corrections' and ensure they still receive a healthy ROI. This is not to say I don't think the Cayman R, or Black Edition are poor ideas. I do. I REALLY do.
But as long as I wish for Porsche to be HEALTHY and remain in my life- not to just sell, bigger than that, - when I go off on my own, and start adding to my stable, that they will still be around to produce the very car that made me FALL in Love with Cars. The 911: So they need to do what they can to ensure profits.
Healthy Profits = Healthy Company.
I'm okay with this. As is McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc etc.
They are ALL in BUSINESS. And have an obligation to grow, take care of their employers and investors, and continue to grow.
Their decisions are not person; but business. You're a smart guy. Take emotion (out of the business aspect) out of it; and it'll make sense.
Sadly, you just might have missed one of the greatest car launches they've ever done to date. If you walked away from either GT2RS Launch event without having a deeper relationship for the company that brought us the 911- you are simply BRAIN dead. And should promptly cut all ties with Porsche. Because you clearly missed an opportunity-to get "this" close to one of greatest Automobile Companies in History, and get to know the people- behind the car.
Good news? You can learn from this, come back to the family and realize we'll all accept you- with open arms (maybe a few noogies and few good jabs) back.
Passion for cars is something that people who aren't- will never understand. It's why we chuckle at those people; because we could care less whether they understand what we do and what motivates us each and everyday.
To me, the car is the most amazing thing ever produced by a human being.
