GT3RS 4.0 Limited Edition - Official Information Thread!
#561
It would be nice if:
1. We had more substantial information about the car at this point - actual pictures, actual specs, etc instead of hearsay.
2. Porsche realized they are killing future sales of "normal" RSs for the next gen 911 - who wouldn't wait the next time around for the most hardcore version of their supposedly already "most hardcore" car?
3. Porsche raced the GT2 RS and used this upcoming "limited edition" 3RS to homologate for racing the RSR. At least try and keep some of the point of the RS homologation ethos intact, even though it is obvious Porsche's mindset is "squeeze as much $$$ out of the 997 before it dies."

This is supposed to be the last 997 model, so I'm thinking Porsche is going to wait a little to unveil this car, so when the 991 comes out, people will still have interest in the leftover 997's, and even the 997s being produced with the 991 (so I here it was possible to buy a 996 Turbo S at the same time it was possible to buy a 997 C2).
In the end Porsche gets some extra money, some 200 purists are happy, and a legend is created.
