Either that or Porsche would have to wait 3 or 4 years until the 998/991 RS is launched with KERS and that could be to far away for P to stay ahead of the game in KERS tech.

Could this be retrofitted to the current RS?
KERS is not designed to work on the street, it is track feature only and it is very expensive.

There really should be some "official" info now from PAG. Getting impatient waiting...

Detroit Auto Show. Jan 15-23rd would be my best guess. But Porsche may wait until all the GT2RS's are delivered before announcing. I, for one, would prefer the GT3RS LE over the GT2RS.

OK Jon, just to keep you from crying all over your keyboard and frying your computer, I'll just buy both. But when I'm old and gray with no retirement money, you'll have to give me a handout.

I concur, on my 3rd GT3! Driven 996 GT2 (on a track), ridden in a chipped 997 GT2, didn't fancy both.

Seems like for Detroit - PAG is going to announce some type of super-car, above the 911 series but below the 918 Spyder. We'll see. Rumors in the beginning were of the GT3 RS LE, but looks like they're heading in an entirely different direction. We'll know on Monday!

How are they going to get around their public statement that the GT2RS will be the last GT1 block. Can they get a 500hp 4.0L out of another engine block?

Was this in an official press release? Never read this before...
