Impressive !

From the drive himself --> Testament to BMW safety: 135 headfirst into telephone pole, driver unhurt - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (M1 / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

"Feinted driving to work this morning, and went headfirst into a telephone pole at ~35-40mph. I am completely uninjured. Car is definitely totalled, engine guts spilled on the road. Sucks that the 1er died, but impressed with the crash performance."

you'd think 40mph would leave more damage than that to both the car & the pole.

an old school friend was refused to get a drivers license because he also had some sort of sudden faints due to special medication,which then required some more medication to correct the side effects...sick!

just imagine what would have happened if he was speeding to work at 200 kph on the Autobahn and would then have passed out...

even the best chassis engineering would not help in that case...too much kinetic energy

this is pretty typical of all German cars. believe it or not a VW Jetta would stand up to a crash similar to this 1 series, I've seen it

The Germans always make good stuff
