Yes I def missed that one!

Whats interesting is that most of these radar sites that test units also sell them - K40 doesnt allow internet sites to sell thier stuff only dealers - maybe thats why they arent so quick to test them?

Not true. Laser Interceptor was also following an exclusively direct channel approach until about 3 months ago. The review site and data I just shared does not sell laser jammers or any products for that matter. Those reviews are done by independent enthusiasts. Typically one of them will offer a car to be the test chassis, and then they will fit brand new out of the box equipment to that car sequentially and test each in turn. They all chip in for the test. They don't accept products directly from OEMs but are strict about buying and testing out of the box products to ensure no OEM cheats by submitting a high power version just for review.

I understand K40 taking action against sites that sell competing products posting reviews, but they also take action against independent testing bodies which seems silly to me. Laser Interceptor for instance submitted their new and unknown product to guys of lidar in 2007 for testing and came out tops over the previous champion, Laser Pro Park, who previously displaced Blinder. I would love for K40 to do the same. No reason for them not to unless they have concerns about the results.

There are 2 very good independent testing groups: the guys of lidar, and jammertest gang. Unfortunately neither did tests in 2010, but I'm sure there will be one soon. There is a local test in Palm Beach coming up too. Will be interesting to see whether anyone brings a new K40.

Thanks
You can look but only K40 offers the completely stealth radar detector that has a radar reciever in both front and rear of the vehicle. I have had the 9500ci it only comes with front radar it does have front and rear shifters but that is only for laser jamming. To me it is more important to have both front and rear radar and laser protection and K40 is the only radar mfg to offer that. Dont get me wrong I like the 9500ci but if I am going to spend the money I want a system that is going to give me the most complete protection.

I heard Guys of lidar are in Escorts pocket....... personally I would not trust any website that offers both quote on quote independent test and sell that very product. The internet is a market for suckers like that why do you think it is the number one source for shoppers now?

Quick comment on the display in the mirror if anyone's interested in this mod, the Lexus mirror with integrated compass has special glass that allows integrating the 9500ci display. 95% of the oem mirrors in current gen cars will not allow this due to the way the mirrors are manufactured. If you want to integrate a 9500ci or V1 or other rader/laser display into your mirror and have been told it can't be done (without losing auto dimming) please check with us - Radar-Mirror.

If this is true, then why is it that Escort does not win in any single category in the GOL test?
